Grassroots Innovation

The essence of grassroots innovation is not only the discovery of new ideas, but also the ability to learn from common people who have found straightforward solutions to issues in their daily lives. At its core, innovation is the process of learning from ‘oddities’ that point to a special way to solve issues. Typically, grassroots inventors are unaware that they are working on an innovation or that they have found a clever solution to a problem. Innovation does not appear to be directly related to social standing, or at least not in a positive way.
