Who is Tara Jauhar?

Tara Jauhar, an author and educator from Delhi, India, has devoted her life to spreading the teachings of Sri Aurobindo, an Indian philosopher, yoga guru, poet, and nationalist who promoted a philosophy of life-based on spiritual evolution. Tara Jauhar was born in 1936. The Delhi Branch of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, established in 1956 by Tara Jauhar’s father Surendra Nath Jauhar, is headed by Tara Jauhar. She received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government in 2022 in recognition of her lifetime commitment to promoting Sri Aurobindo’s teachings.
