Who Won the 2023 Padma Shree Awards for Literature and Education?

Honoring achievements in literature and education is vital because it brings importance to the significance of education in society. The Padma Award is one of India’s highest civilian honors, awarded by the Indian President. There are 13 people that receive the Padma Shree honor in 2023.

• Shri Radha Charan Gupta

The Padma Awards for this year have been announced by the Indian government. There is a name among the recipients of the Padma Awards, and when it was revealed, Bundelkhand, especially Jhansi, experienced a surge of joy. This person is a Jhansi resident by the name of Professor Radha Charan Gupta. The Padma Shri will be given to Professor Radha Charan Gupta for his outstanding contributions to literature and education. Radha Charan Gupta has authored a substantial body of work on mathematics and its development. More than 400 research papers and 80 books have so far been authored by him.

• Shri C I Issac

C I Issac experienced prejudice while working as a professor because of his political views. RSS, however, acknowledged Christians like me for our talent. Through this, I can attest that RSS is not hostile to any faith, despite the fact that one of its members experienced discrimination while working as a professor because of his political views. RSS, however, acknowledged Christians like me for our talent. Prof. Issac, a recipient of the Padma Shri award, stated, “I am a witness that RSS is not against any faith”.

• Shri Rattan Singh Jaggi

For his contributions to literature and education, distinguished scholar Dr. Rattan Singh Jaggi has been awarded the Padma Shri. Dr. Jaggi is well-known in the Punjabi and Hindi literary communities, and his specialty is Gurmat literature. Over 70 years of his life have been devoted to advancing Punjabi, Hindi, and Gurmat literature.

• Shri Anand Kumar

Anand Kumar, an Indian mathematics teacher who was born on January 1st, 1973, is most known for his Super 30 program, which he launched in Patna, Bihar, in 2002. This program trains disadvantaged students to pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced admission exams for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). By the end of 2018, 422 out of 510 students have been accepted into IITs, and a documentary on the Discovery Channel featured his work.

• Shri Prabhakar Bhanudas Mande

Padma Awards have been announced by the Central Government. Prabhakar Mande of Ahmednagar has been awarded the Padma Shri for his outstanding achievements in the field of literature and education. ABP Mazha sought his reaction to this. Then, he responded that he is satisfied that what has happened by his hands had been felt by society and had reached society.

 

• Shri Antaryami Mishra

Pandit Antaryami Mishra, an Indian researcher, and writer of the Odia language were born on July 1, 1950. Pandit Mishra was awarded the 2019 Presidential Certificate of Honor for his work on the Classical Odia language. In 2023, he received a Padma Shri.

• Shri Ramesh Patange

Senior RSS activist, thinker, and ideologue Ramesh Patange. He served as the former editor of the monthly Udyog Krishi magazine and the Marathi weekly Vivek. He helped form the Bhatke-Vimukata Vikash Parishad, Samrasta Sahitya Parishad, and Samajik Samarasata Manch. He is the author of 52 books and the editor of 50 special volumes. Hindi and other regional languages have been used in the translation of his book Mi, Manu, and Sangh. Patange has won numerous honors, including the Manik Chand Vajpayee National Award for Journalism, the 2017 Lok many Tilak Lifetime Achievement Award for Journalism, and the Tilak Samarasta Purskar. He was awarded a Padma Shri in 2023.

 

• Shri B Ramakrishna Reddy

One of the three people from Telangana who have been recognized with the Padma Shri award by the government of India for their enormous contributions to literature and education, particularly their extensive contributions to the preservation of Tribal and Southern languages like Kuvi, Manda, and Kui. Prof. B. Ramakrishna Reddy is a retired professor of linguistics from Osmania University (OU) and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.

• Shri Mohan Singh

Mohan Singh, a Samajwadi Party politician from India, was born on March 4, 1945. Three times, he was chosen to represent Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria in the Lok Sabha. He served as the Samajwadi Party’s general secretary. He passed away from cancer on September 22, 2013, at Aims in Delhi. Now, he has been chosen for the Padma Shri award among them.

 

• Shri Prakash Chandra Sood

The academician Prof. Prakash Chandra Sood, who now resides in Chhattisgarh and has an impressive resume of service as a teacher and research scientist, was also given the Padma Shri, another reason for pride for the state. His name was suggested by someone in Andhra Pradesh. Senior authorities including the governors of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh also expressed their congratulations to Sood. Sood, who comes from a lower middle-class family, graduated from the US with a Ph.D. in nuclear physics but ultimately decided to go back to India.

• Dr. Janum Singh Soy

On the night of Republic Day in 2023, the President announced the recipients of the “Padma Awards,” the nation’s highest civilian honors. Dr. Janum Singh Soy of Jharkhand has been chosen for the Padma Shri award among them.

 

• Shri Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari

Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, an Indian poet, editor, and critic, was Sahitya Akademi’s president from 2013 to 2018. He was born in 1940. In addition to editing books, he has published almost 50 volumes in Hindi in various genres, including criticism, poetry, travelogues, biographies, and interviews. Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari has been chosen for the Padma Shri award among them.

Dhaniram Toto is happy to have received the Padma Shri and wishes to help the Totos.

Dhaniram Toto, who won the Padma Shri award and wrote the Toto language’s script, wants an independent development commission to advance the Toto tribe.
