In a ceremony on March 28, 2022, in the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Darbar Hall, J K Bajaj Trustee and Director of the Center for Policy Studies, Chennai received the Padma Shri, India’s third-highest civilian honor, in recognition of their distinguished service in the fields of literature and education. The honorable president of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind, presented him with the prize in appreciation of his work as a “Renowned History and Policy Scholar specializing in the study of Indian Society” in India. because of his exceptional contributions to literature and education.

Who is JK Bajaj?

J K Bajaj, a founding Trustee, and Director of the Center for Policy Studies in Chennai were born on March 21, 1952, in Punjab, India. Additionally, he is a member of the National Council of Rural Institutes, the Indian Council of Social Science Research, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research’s advisory council. J K Bajaj has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Panjab University and has researched significantly in the Indian scientific and technological tradition, Indian ideas and institutions, and Indian religious demographics.
