President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr. Narendra Prasad Misra (Posthumous) for Medicine. He served as the Dean, of Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. He had a brilliant academic record with innumerable medals and awards for excellence in his field.

Who is Dr. Narendra Prasad Misra?

Indian doctor Narendra Prasad Misra, who was born in Gwalior and died on September 5, 2021, was from that city. He resided in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, an Indian state. He began working at the institution as an assistant professor in 1969 after finishing his studies.

He progressed to become the college’s head of the department of medicine. In the 1980s, his popularity grew to the point where there was nowhere to stand during one of his programs in Gwalior, according to media accounts. He left his position as the college’s dean. Through his service, Misra contributed to the Bhopal gas tragedy and helped save hundreds of lives.
