Who is Himmatrao Saluba Bawaskar ?
In the early 1950s, a poor farmer gave birth to Dr. Bawaskar in a remote Maharashtra community with a population of 500. He was affectionately referred to as “Himmatrao,” which means “one who is courageous.” Years later, he demonstrated that no other name would have been more appropriate. His father understood that the family’s misery could only be ended via education. His illiterate father gained the moniker “barrister” due to his drive to provide for his children’s education. His early years were defined by constant adversity. To pay for his schooling, he was forced to work a variety of odd jobs, including those in brick kilns, hotels, temples, bookshops, and chemist’s shops. He learned from the adversity that nothing in life would come easily and that he would have to work hard for it everything.
