6. National Research Centre on Camel

The Centre has been identified as one of the important tourist place of Bikaner and is included in the tourist book. The tourist visiting the Centre can see the camel of different breeds and their behaviour. A camel museum is available to apprise them of the developmental and research aspects of the camel in the desert ecosystem. Facilities of camel riding, safari and video/photography are available for the visitors. Camel milk parlour is a special attraction because it vendors unique value added camel milk products like ice-cream, hot and cold beverages. Every year thousands of Foreign and Indian Tourists visit the Centre.

7.  Shri Laxminath Temple

One of Bikaner’s oldest temples and it is popular for beautifully gracing the god sanctum of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. Many people are familiar with this temple because of the festivals and grand celebrations that take place there on holidays like Geeta Jayanti, Ramnavami, NirjalaEkadashi, and Janmashtami.

The stunning idols in this temple are also ornately decorated with delicate and elaborate silver artwork. This temple is one of the best in Bikaner because of the grand celebration.

8. Bikaner Camel Festival

 

Many individuals are attracted to the enticing Thar Desert’s sands by the Bikaner Camel Festival. This festival is held in honor of the kind desert camel and is organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department.

Additionally, it is an annual festival where the full beauty of Rajasthan’s vibrant colors can be appreciated. You will be able to watch local artists perform folk music. The festival opens with a procession of beautifully decorated camels; it is quite beautiful to see the camels aligned against the red background of Junagarh fort.

This is one of the best tourist destinations in Bikaner because it attracts camel traders and craftspeople from all over Rajasthan. There are also numerous spectacular camel competitions here, including races, beauty contests, and competitions for the best breed.

The festival also features numerous food stands, gift shops, skirt-swirling dances, and other top attractions.

9. Royal Cenotaphs, Devikund Sagar

Devi Kund Sagar holds a prominent place among the top attractions in Bikaner. It is situated 8 KM east of the city. It has gained popularity because many members of the Bikaner royal family, including Jet Singh, Rao Bikaji’s great-grandson, have been cremated here.

Here, you can see a reservoir with cenotaphs for the kings of the Bikaner dynasty, from Rao Kalyan Singhji to Maharaja Karni Singh, on either side. Prior to Maharaja Gaj Singh, the royal family had 22 Saties, or cenotaphs. You can also see a cenotaph for a man.

The architectural talents displayed on these cenotaphs are the true factors attracting more visitors. The cenotaph of Surat Singh is exquisitely constructed entirely out of white marble. Amazing paintings enhance the area’s beauty.

10.Bhandasar Jain Temple

Bhandasar, one of Bikaner’s two well-known Jain temples, is regarded as one of the top tourist attractions in the city. Yellow stone carvings and colorful paintings adorn it. The paintings on the walls and pillars give the temple’s interior a stunning appearance. Floral arabesques and pictures of the 24 Jain teachers can be seen on the walls.

According to legend, the mortar was made with 40000 KG of ghee rather than water. The first floor of the three-story temple houses the miniature god sentries. Visitors can see the entirety of the city, which extends to the west, from the top floor.

In essence, the temple was built by a Jain businessman named Bhandasa Oswal and is devoted to Sumtinath, the fifth Tirthankar. The temple was built in the 16th century, so many historical attitudes and attributions are depicted in the building.
