Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award in the Republic of India. It is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service in any field, including the arts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, social service, and public affairs. The award is presented by the President of India and it is one of the highest honors in the country.

Biography of Padma Vibhushan Recipients
Shri Balkrishna Doshi (Posthumous)
Shri Balkrishna Doshi was born on 26 August 1927. He was an Indian architect and urban planner who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan (posthumously) in 2018. He was known for his contributions to the field of architecture and urban design in India, and for promoting low-cost housing for the poor. Doshi was a key figure in the development of modern architecture in India, and his works were characterized by their functional design, sensitivity to a local context, and integration of traditional Indian forms and materials with modern building techniques. He passed away on 24 January 2023.
Shri Dilip Mahalanabis
Dilip Mahalanabis was born November 12, 1934. He was an Indian pediatrician who is credited with developing oral rehydration therapy for the treatment of diarrheal illnesses. As a research associate with the Johns Hopkins University International Center for Medical Research and Training in Calcutta, India, Mahalanabis started studying oral rehydration therapy in 1966.
Mulayam Singh Yadav

Shri Zakir Hussain
