Shri Modadugu Vijay Gupta 

Shri Modadugu Vijay Gupta was an Indian-American aquaculture scientist who made significant contributions to the development of shrimp farming in India and other parts of the world. He was born on April 26, 1939, in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and passed away on June 7, 2001. Gupta is widely regarded as the “father of modern shrimp farming” and received numerous awards for his contributions to aquaculture. The Indian government has given the Padma Shri award in science and engineering for 2023.

Shri Ganesh Nagappa Krishnarajanagara

The Tirupati campus of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has been buzzing ever since the Union Ministry of Home Affairs announced that IISER Director Krishnarajanagara Nagappa Ganesh had won the “Padma Shri” award in the “Science & Engineering” category.

Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Pal

Prof. Dr. Mahendra Pal, who was born on April 10th, 1946, in Delhi, is a well-known eminent academician with more than 50 years of expertise in the fields of research, teaching, disease investigation, planning, and administration in the veterinary science sector. Prof. Dr. Mahendra Pal has received India’s highest civilian award, the “PADMA SHRI.” He has more than 48 years of experience in research, teaching, disease investigation, planning, and administration in the field of veterinary science. He is an internationally famous scientist and a well-known eminent academician.

Shri Bakshi Ram

An agro scientist from Gurugram has been given the Padma Shri award for his efforts in the sugarcane industry and creating high-yielding varieties.

Over 70% of the sugarcane land in Northern India is planted with the sugarcane variety CO-0238, which was developed in large part by Dr. Bakshi Ram.

Sujatha Ramdorai

Algebraic number theorist Sujatha Ramdorai was born in 1962 and is renowned for her contributions to the Iwasawa theory. At the University of British Columbia in Canada, she holds a Canada Research Chair and is a professor of mathematics. Ramdorai became the first person from India to get the coveted ICTP Ramanujan Prize. In 2004, she also received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, the highest honor given by the Indian government in the field of science. She also received the Krieger-Nelson Prize in 2020 for her outstanding contributions to mathematical research. The Indian government has given her the Padma Shri award in science and engineering for 2023.

Shri Abbareddy Nageswara Rao

Indian botanist Abbareddy Nageswara Rao was born in 1954. Also published as N.R. Abbareddy.The Indian government has given the Padma Shri award in science and engineering for 2023.
