Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. The Government of India awards it for distinguished service of a high order in any field, including the arts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, medicine, social service, and public affairs. The award was instituted on 2 January 1954 and recipients receive a certificate signed by the President of India and a medallion

• Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa

Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa was born on 20 June 1931.He is an Indian writer and scholar who primarily writes in the Kannada language. He is known for his works in the field of literature and his contribution to the contemporary Kannada literary scene. Bhyrappa is a recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Padma Shri and the Sahitya Akademi Award, for his literary works. He has written over 20 novels, and his professions are widely read and respected by literary audiences in India.

• Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla

Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla was born 14 June 1967. He is an Indian industrialist and billionaire businessman. He is the chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, a multinational conglomerate with interests in sectors such as aluminum, cement, carbon black, telecom, and textiles. Birla is widely regarded as one of India’s leading industrialists and has received several awards for his contributions to business and industry, including the Padma Bhushan in 2019. He has also served on the boards of several prestigious organizations, including the London Business School and the Indian School of Business.

• Deepak Dhar

Indian theoretical physicist Deepak Dhar, who was born on October 30, 1951, is well known for his work on stochastic processes and statistical physics. He was the first scientist from India to get the Boltzmann Medal in 2022, statistical physics’ top honour given by IUPAP once every three years for outstanding contributions to the field.
