Smt. Ajita Srivastava receives the Padma Shri award for art from President Kovind. She is a well-known Mirzapur-born folk singer from Uttar Pradesh. She is also known for preserving, conserving, and spreading the well-known “Kajli” folklore.

Srivastava was born in the Uttar Pradesh city of Varanasi. Ajita Srivastava is an Indian singer, educator, and social worker. In Mirzapur and the surrounding area, Kajari folk songs are a well-liked genre of folk music that Srivastava is credited with popularizing and promoting. Sangeet Prabhakar from the Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Prayagraj, a B. Ed. from Gorakhpur University, and an M. A. from Banaras Hindu University are all degrees she has earned.
Later, Srivastava settled in Mirzapur after being married to Rasbihari Lal, a well-known poet, author, and lawyer. Anurag Anand, her lone child, is a pilot for the Indian Air Force.
