Shreeguru Dr. Balaji Tambe has been honored with Padma Shri 2022 posthumously for his significant contribution to Ayurveda. President of India Ram Nath Kovind has conferred him with Padma Shri 2022 posthumously.

Who is Dr. Balaji Tambe  ?

On June 28, 1940, he was born. The well-known Vedic scholar Vasudeo Tambe Shastri was the father of Dr. Balaji Tambe. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1960, and an Ayurveda Vaidya Visharad in 1964.

He made outstanding contributions to Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation, Vedic Lifestyle, and Healing Music. He was a world-famous, well-known  Ayurveda physician, author, spiritual teacher, and public educator.

He is the founder of Atmasantulana Village – one of India’s largest Panchakarma centres, Santulan Ayurveda – known for Ayurvedic medicines in India and abroad, and Aum-Kurzentrum – Europe’s first Ayurveda and Panchakarma center.

In Maharashtra, he is affectionately known as the “Family Doctor.” He also published more than 3,400 articles and wrote a supplement for the Sakal Newspaper for more than 18 years. In order to make medical knowledge accessible to the general public, this is a special addition to modern Ayurveda, according to a government announcement. On August 10, 2021, he died.
